EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION
Don’t Panic! If you’ve had sex without using contraception
or think your contraception hasn’t worked, emergency hormonal contraception
(the ‘morning after pill’) can usually prevent pregnancy
if taken within 72 hours (3 days) of having sex. It is more effective
if started within the first 24 hours. For more info
on what emergency contraception is click here.
Participating Pharmacists
in Enfield and Haringey
All of the pharmacies on this page can provide you with free emergency
hormonal contraception pills. Look for the silver sticker in the pharmacy window.
This service is free and confidential for all young people aged 18
and under.
There is a member of staff in each of these pharmacies who has been specially trained to provide emergency contraception pills – it’s a good idea to ring before
you go to check that someone is there who can help you, or who can
advise you of the nearest clinic.
REMEMBER - Emergency Hormonal Contraception does not provide you with the same level of protection against pregnancy as other forms of contraception and it doesn't protect you from sexually transmitted infections.
